However, the collaboration was not without controversy. A manufacturer, Island Company, sued the sisters and implicitly PacSun for using a phrase they put on one of their t-shirts, which was very similar to a phrase previously used on an Island Company shirt.
Team up with Rusty for a special hoodie
In 2010, PacSun teamed up with Rusty to launch their Wired hoodie series.
The zip-up hoodies had cords that doubled as machine-washable headphones and had a music jack in the pocket.
Accused of indecency
In 2014, a mother in Utah saw a shirt that she considered “indecent” in the window of a PacSun store near you and decided to buy the store’s entire stock of that product.
The shirts cost $28 a piece, meaning the buyer spent more than $600 on the offending product.
Later, the woman returned the shirts but wanted her gesture to be a declaration for other customers not to sit idly by if they notice something offensive.
