Short history
What we know today as Navy Federal Credit Union was founded on January 17, 1933, as a credit union for those working within the Navy Department of the District of Columbia (NDCU).
Only those who were employees of the Department of the Navy, members of the federal employee union and their family members were eligible to join.
However, things evolved here as well, and thus, after several years, we arrived at today’s credit unions.
