Who is the owner of ABC store?
The son of a first-generation Japanese immigrant, Sidney Kosasa, was born in Palolo Valley, Hawaii, in December 1919.
As a youth, he worked at his parent’s grocery store in Palolo, thus acquiring the first knowledge that would transform him into a trustworthy business person.
It seems that the idea of opening such a center came to him at a business convention in Miami Beach, Florida.
He noticed that near the big hotels there are a lot of tourists who would be exactly the target audience for a convenience location.
That’s how the ABC appeared, and the first location of this kind was opened on Kalakaua Avenue in Waikiki, Hawaii, in 1964.
